Happy International Women's Day!
Celebrating International
Women’s Day
Today on International Women’s Day we would like to honor the hard-working women staff and officers at Guardian Protection Force Inc. While many have viewed the security industry to be a man’s domain, over the decades women have revealed that stereotype to be false in every way. It cannot be understated that women have had, and continue to have, an uphill battle in the workforce, and the private security industry for female armed and unarmed security officers is no exception.
Yet, time and time again
they have proven
themselves to be
more
than capable of
handling situations
before thought
to be "too difficult"
or "too dangerous".
GPF currently employs a number of exceptional women, without whom, Guardian would not be able to function. To highlight just one of these Security Professionals, here's a spotlight on our latest addition to the Guardian Team:
SECURITY OFFICER O. BUTENKO SPOTLIGHT
Security Officer (SO) Butenko has worked in the security field for approximately eight (8) years in total. Like so many, because it is a steady profession, although it was her second job it ended up being something she fell back into many times over the year and now calls her profession.
SO Butenko was pursuing her AA in Admin. of Justice with the ultimate goal of pursuing law enforcement, she chose the security industry as stepping stone to get her foot in the door and gain valuable experience. She describes her short/long term goals to move forward with Guardian Protection Force Ic., and prepare herself financially for my long-term goal which would be to, one day, become a stay-at-home mom.
SO Buteko describes one of the challenges she has faced in the private security industry, "From a female standpoint, the biggest challenge would be the occasional not being taken seriously in certain situations, but those are far and few in between."

As women continue to make their mark and shatter ceilings, the possibilities seem endless, for what they can achieve in the workplace.
Lastly, we could not write a blog on International Women's Day without recognizing the incredible women on our admin staff who work tirelessly to ensure that all our officers are informed, paid, and treated with care and respect.
A special thank you to the women that make up our administrative staff: Ashlee (Executive Director), Adelynn (Executive Assistant), Jenny (Ast. Office Manager), Katarina and Sommer (Administrative Assistants).
“A woman is like a teabag.
You never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.”
