We are happy to feature one of GPF’s newest sergeants, Christopher Goings. SGT Goings joined Guardian in March of 2020 which, as most of us recall, was not an easy time to do anything.
However, due to his hard work and professionalism, Goings quickly rose through the ranks and was recently promoted to Sergeant. With his new title came new responsibilities which include patrol vehicle upkeep, verifying reports and officer scheduling. All of this on top of doing regular patrol routes and being the team lead for three other sites.
From 2007-2013 Goings enlisted as a MP for the U.S Army. In that time he developed an impeccable work ethic and ended his military term as a police investigator.
When asked what motivates him, Sgt. Goings replied: “My son is my motivation in everything I do.” As we began discussing his big picture goals and plans in the Private Security industry he said, “[My] overall goals are to always do my job to the best of my abilities; and to one day, possibly, run a field office in a different city.”
Next, we asked him to share all of his tips & tricks for new Security Officers entering the field, “Best advice for new hires is to be honest about your availability and always make sure you’re on time to your shifts. Also, give plenty of notice if you need to call out sick. Last minute callouts hurt your co-workers by making them stay late or pull our patrol drivers from doing their jobs.”
Congratulations SGT Christopher Going, keep up the stellar work.
