Employee Spotlight - Sn SO Duane Weikum

We are very excited to announce that Senior Security Officer Duane Weikum is our choice to be recognized for our Employee Spotlight feature for the month of September.

Sn SO Weikum works as a Site Supervisor overseeing Bay Area accounts primarily in Palo Alto. If you ever have the pleasure of engaging in a conversation with Mr. Weikum, you will find that he has a humbleness about him coupled with a clever wit.

Sn SO Weikum joined our GPF Team in August of 2021, as an Part Time (On Call) Security Officer. His first ongoing post was in May of 2022, where he quickly was assigned as a Site Supervisor and Promoted to Senior Security Officer. 

When asked what motivates him to do his job well he stated, “Staying employed, mostly. I represent the company. The better I look doing the job, the better the company looks. If the company looks professional and the client is happy, we keep our contracts secure ... we all keep our jobs.”

Next we asked him about his overall goals in the security industry. He leaned into the question as any true Security Industry Leader would and replied, “Learn what I can and move forward. I’m lucky that I fell into my current post and am working as site lead. I am growing and managing our staff and also learning and managing security systems for the Bay area which keeps me very busy.”

Our favorite response was when we asked Sn Security Officer Weikum what is the best advice he would give the new hires. He replied with his classic quick wit, “Buy comfortable shoes” [the man is not lying].
